Twitter.com & Tweetdeck.com

TweetDeck is a Twitter client for desktop, web, and mobile devices. TweetDeck was originally an Adobe Air desktop application, designed with a unique columned user interface. Its goal was to be a realtime application that allowed users to monitor that information in a single concise view. TweetDeck integrated services from Twitter, Twitscoop, 12seconds, Stocktwits and Facebook.

In 2011, Twitter acquired TweetDeck and rebuilt the application in HTML5.

Tweetdeck is so functional which can even “spy” other’s timeline, which means we can see exactly the same as what others are viewing. Moreover, difference columns are set up to users easier to set up and organize. That’s the cool using experience. This function can not be found in Chinese Twitter (Weibo) curretly, maybe that  device will be inserted  in the Weibo as well?? In my view that twitter is more personal use like social sharing information, but Tweetdeck can help users to well organize their pages.

As mentioned in the last blog post ‘The Use of Twitter: personal using and Business Marketing (1)’, Twitter can help the company to adapt their personality and promotion online or in the social media which could help them get closer to their customers or even let consumers get involved in company’s activities. Twitter as a fast medium do help companies to explore another field of readership.

The use of Twitter: Personal using and Business Marketing (1)

29 May

“Twitter is a short message communication tool that allows you to send out messages (tweets) up to 140 characters long to people who subscribe to you (followers). Your tweets can include a link to any web content (blog post, website page, PDF document, etc.) or a photograph or video. If a picture is worth a thousand words, adding an image to a tweet greatly expands what you can share to beyond the 140-character limit for tweets. People follow (subscribe) to your Twitter account, and you follow other people. This allows you to read, reply to and easily share their tweets with your followers (retweet).” (Charlene Kingston, How to use Twitter for Business and Marketing)

There are differences between personal Twitter using and business purpose that the former one use twitter as citizen journalism and express natural extensions, while the twitter used in the organization seems have more functions. Several reasons for having a public twitter account in a organization: complains and suggestions could develop the product, customer could receive instant feedback from twitter, rating and the review of the products on twitter could be second marketing promotion and also a public twitter account can manage a sales channel (e.g. Dell Outlet).
